Day 1
A comfortable bus was waiting to take us to our floating hotel which was to be our home for the next 2
weeks. As soon as we arrived, we spent the rest of the day cruising down the Rhine and Lek while we
caught up with our jet lag. Our first night was spent in Willemstad.

Day 5 and 6 Zeeland
An inspiring example of Dutch perseverence.
Zeeland was the location of the terrible flood of 1953 when almost 2000 people were killed. It is now home
to one of the worlds greatest engineering projects with the Delta plan while retaining its unique character
and heritage

Beautiful Keukenhof gardens. These
gardens located in the midst of the bulb fields are only open for 8 weeks each year

The bulbs for these gardens are provided by bulb
growers and are cared for by 30 full time gardeners
The gardens are planted using a layered technique
where later bulbs are planted beneath the earlier bulbs. This provides for a constant display of color
